Introduction

The Virgin Islands National Park is one of the most beautiful places to visit in the Caribbean. It’s also home to some of the best snorkeling and sailing in the world. If you want to get out on the water with a captain who knows how to get up close with sea turtles, stingrays, and tropical fish then this tour is for you!
Background
Virgin Islands National Park is a US National Park in the United States Virgin Islands.
The park was established by Congress on September 22, 1956 to preserve the natural and cultural resources of St. John, St. Thomas, Water Island (formerly Hog Island), Buck Island Reef National Monument, and surrounding waters. The park is part of the Caribbean Islands National Parks System and includes four national monuments: Virgin Islands Coral Reef National Monument, Virgin Islands National Parks Marina Site, Fort George’s Historic Site and Botanical Garden on St Louis Bay (Saint Croix).
The management of these protected areas includes preservation or restoration work such as coral reef conservation efforts at Salt River Bay to protect endangered hawksbill turtles or wildlife surveys that help researchers identify endangered species like leatherback sea turtles which nest along shores throughout the islands.

- Bathing suit. Even if you don’t plan on taking a dip in the ocean, it can be nice to cool off after hiking around. And if you do decide to swim, there are no waves or currents—all of our tours include non-motorized water sports such as kayaking and snorkeling (so there won’t be any danger). Just remember: While our crew provides all equipment needed for these activities—including life vests—you should bring your own towel as well!
- Change of clothes/toiletries/snacks/sunscreen: Our day tours are full days; we recommend bringing snacks along. We stop at lunchtime for food or drinks at one of our favorite spots along the way…
